Connex Electrical, a licensed electrical contractor (#92217) based in Mango Hill, installs EV chargers in Salisbury. Standard home installs are from $990 installed (inc GST), take about 2 to 4 hours and come with a fixed written quote. Salisbury's post-war timber homes sit beside light industrial streets, and the age of the wiring is the main thing that sets the price of a charger here.

Post-war houses and EV chargers in Salisbury
Salisbury grew quickly after the Second World War, and many streets still have the timber and fibro homes of that era, lowset or raised on stumps. Plenty have been renovated, and a few have been replaced by new builds. If your home still has an original board, it almost certainly needs replacing before a charger can be safely added. If it was renovated in the last couple of decades, you may only need a new circuit.
Raised homes have a useful advantage: the space underneath makes a cable route simple, and if you park under the house, the charger can go right beside the car. On lowset homes the route usually goes through the roof space.
Fibro cladding on homes of this age can contain asbestos. We avoid drilling or cutting it where we can and plan the route accordingly.
How much does EV charger installation cost in Salisbury?
A standard single-phase EV charger installation in Salisbury costs from $990 inc GST with Connex Electrical, plus the charger if you need one. Most Salisbury houses pay just that. The price only rises for a long cable run, an older switchboard that needs upgrading, or a three-phase charger, and you see any extra in a fixed written quote first.
| Situation | Price |
|---|---|
| Garage or carport close to a modern switchboard | From $990 installed (inc GST) |
| Charger on the far side of the house, or a detached garage | Standard price plus the extra cable, quoted from photos |
| Older board with fuses or no safety switches | Standard price plus a switchboard upgrade, quoted separately |
| Three-phase home with an 11kW or 22kW charger | Quoted per job |
Every standard install includes its own circuit and safety switch protection, the cable run within the standard length, mounting and setup, full testing and a Certificate of Testing and Compliance. The charger itself is extra unless you already own one.
How to pay less for a charger in Salisbury
- Send clear photos of the switchboard and charger spot, so we can quote without a site visit.
- Choose a 7kW single-phase charger. It suits almost every household and avoids three-phase costs.
- If a second EV is coming, size the cable for it now rather than paying for a second callout later.
- Already have a charger from the dealer? We install it, so you only pay for installation.
Salisbury is about 35 km from Mango Hill, roughly 40 minutes via the Gateway Motorway. We often quote from photos, then book a single visit for the install.
Every Salisbury job gets a fixed written price before any work starts, so the quote is what you pay. For a line-by-line breakdown, see the EV charger installation cost guide for Brisbane, or call 0474 207 609.
Salisbury's mix of homes and businesses
Salisbury station on the Beenleigh line serves residents who commute to the city, while the industrial pockets near the railway host workshops, warehouses and trade businesses. If you run a business here and are moving to electric vans, a staged workplace charging plan avoids redoing cabling later.
Many Salisbury homes sit on full-size blocks with room for a carport or shed at the back. A charger out the back needs a longer cable, and that is fine; we price it into a fixed quote so there are no surprises.
There is no Queensland rebate for home chargers at present, so be wary of deals that bundle a free charger with a lengthy energy contract. Our cost guide explains real costs.

Salisbury EV charging FAQs
Is my old Salisbury switchboard safe for an EV charger?
Possibly not as it stands. Original post-war boards with ceramic fuses and no safety switches are not suitable for a new high-load circuit. A switchboard upgrade gives the whole house modern protection and lets us add the charger safely. If your board was updated more recently, it may just need a new breaker and RCD. Photos tell us which.
How much does EV charger installation cost in Salisbury?
A standard single-phase install in Salisbury is from $990 inc GST with Connex Electrical, plus the charger unless you already have one. Long cable runs, switchboard upgrades and three-phase chargers cost extra and are quoted in writing first. Most installs take 2 to 4 hours.
How can I keep EV charger installation affordable in Salisbury?
Put the charger close to the switchboard, choose a 7kW single-phase unit and send photos so we can quote without a visit. If you already have a charger, you only pay for installation, at the standard $990 inc GST. Every quote is fixed, so there are no surprises on the day.
Is there a Queensland rebate for home EV chargers?
Not at the moment. There is currently no Queensland Government rebate for home EV chargers. The state Zero Emission Vehicle rebate for cars closed on 2 September 2024 when its funding ran out. Occasionally a retailer or federally funded trial offers a subsidised charger, and if one fits your situation we will tell you. Be wary of "free installation" offers that lock you into a particular charger or energy plan.
What if my garage is a long way from the switchboard?
A longer cable run is common and is simply priced into your quote. The cable size goes up with distance to keep voltage drop in check, and the route might go through the roof space, under the house or along an external wall in conduit. Sending photos of the switchboard and the charger spot helps us price it accurately without a visit.
Can an EV charger be installed outside?
Yes. Most wallboxes are rated for outdoor use, so a carport post or external wall is fine. We still look at placement: out of direct afternoon sun where possible, clear of where water pools, and where the cable reaches the charge port without stretching across a path. A pedestal mount works where there is no wall nearby.
